Mukherjee’s deep understanding of rural art manifests itself in his canvasses and his sculptures, both in his employment of medium, and in the way he uses flora and fauna as imagery. His fascination with folk-art led him to experiment with forms and concepts. He researches his medium before working with it, be it tempera on stretched cloth, mixed metals, terracotta or stoneware. This charming and cheeky frog reflects both his deep love for all things naturals, and his understanding of ceramics and glazes. Using a mix of stoneware, glazes and oxides Atish has once again created a collector's piece. He is a contemporary artist who constantly reinvents himself in his themes and in his use of medium.
